Thailand’s Business Data Warehouse Wins UN’s Championship

NONTHABURI, March 6 (TNA) -- The Department of Business Development has won championship from a contest organized by the United Nations and the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) with its DBD Business Data Warehouse project. Wuthikrai Leeweerapan, director-general of the department, said it submitted the business data warehouse project to the WSIS Project Prizes 2019 contest aimed at promoting the application of digital technology for development. The entry joined the Access to Information and Knowledge category of the contest which attracted 101 projects from countries worldwide. Results were determined by votes from people around the world. Mr Wuthikrai quoted ITU as reporting that Thailand though his department won the championship together with China, Mauritius, Turkey and Russia. Winners of the contest will be announced in the WSIS Forum 2019 event at the Geneva International Conference Center on April 9. Mr Wuthikrai said the DBD Business Data Warehouse project gathered the information including financial data of companies for online viewers and it attracted more than 6 million views per year.
