National Programme ORAT launch announced

Manama, Mar. 17 (BNA): Minister of Transportation and Communications, Kamal bin Ahmed Mohammed, announced the launch of the national programme of Operations Readiness and Airport Transfer (ORAT) in preparation for the transfer of operations to the new Passenger Terminal Building. The Bahrain Airport Company (BAC), in collaboration with Fraport AG, which provides consultancy services for the new Passenger Terminal Building, staged an introductory workshop in preparation for the opening of the new Passenger Terminal Building. The workshop was held at the Gulf Aviation Academy in the presence of strategic partners, officials from the Bahrain International Airport and the BAC attended. The minister said the national programme ORAT is part of a comprehensive programme designed to the modernization of the Bahrain International Airport to ensure smooth going operations, as the ORAT programme will assist all partners, including government agencies, airlines, service providers and suppliers, to learn about operational processes and ways to implement them to ensure passengers safe and smooth flights. He added the move would benefit the national aviation sector and Bahrain’s standing in the region, for its capacity to deal with the growing number of arriving and departing passengers.
