Bangkok Int'l Motor Show 2019 likely to welcome at least 1.6m visitors
BANGKOK, March 26 (TNA) - The Bangkok International Motor Show 2019, which will be held at the IMPACT Exhibition and Convention Center in Muang Thong Thani on the outskirts of the capital during March 27-April 7, is expected to attract at least 1.6 million international visitors and to secure at least 40,000 purchase orders of new automobiles.
Head of the organizing team of the 12-day event, Prachin Eamlumnow, told journalists on Tuesday that his targets on both the number of international visitors and purchase orders of automobiles are likely to be met in the wake of Thailand's new general election on March 24.
Prachin explained that the country's successful general election last Sunday is believed to boost people and international investors' confidence in the Thai economy, resulting in the expanding domestic auto sector and others consequently.
Statistics showed that the previous 39th Bangkok International Motor Show, held at the same venue last year, attracted 1.62 million international visitors and acquired nearly 42,500 purchase orders of new automobiles.
Prachin stated that there will be 33 brands of cars, including innovative electric, hybrid and hybrid-plug in models, and motorcyles from 14 companies to be introduced and presented at the 40th Bangkok International Motor Show, themed "Enjoyment Of Automobiles".
Prachin, meanwhile, projected that a total of at least 2.2 million units of automobiles should be produced in Thailand this year, an about 4 per cent year-on-year increase, about 1.2 million units of which are likely to be exported to foreign markets. (TNA)
