Works Minister highlights adopting agricultural technologies

Manama, Apr. 4 (BNA): Minister of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning, Issam bin Abdulla Khalaf, today paid a field visit to Agricultural Incubators Center in Horrat A’ali accompanied by senior officials of the ministry. The minister listened to a brief on the main training programmes for a group of agricultural entrepreneurs, who seek turning their promising agricultural projects into reality by the use of the latest technologies. The minister highlighted HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s interest in supporting farmers to adopt the latest agricultural technologies. He noted the encouragement of the government, chaired by HRH the prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa and HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and Frist Deputy Prime Minister, to develop the agriculture in line with the Government Action Plan. He also noted the support of HRH Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, wife of HM the King, Chairperson of the Advisory Board of the National Initiative for the Development of the Agricultural Sector, for the same sector, which interpret her visions. The minister also visited a number of private farms in the same area and underlined the ministry’s support for the agricultural sector to keep pace with the new technological developments. He emphasized on maintaining sustainable agricultural products to contribute to achieving food security.
