Bahrain participates in Yemeni parliament opening session

Hadhramaut, Apr. 13 (BNA): Bahrain’s Ambassador to Yemen, residing in Riyadh, Shaikh Humood bin Abdullah bin Hamad Al Khalifa, participated in the opening of the extraordinary session of Yemeni parliament held in Seiyun in Hadhramaut.
The session was inaugurated by President Abdrabbuh Mansur Hadi, in the presence of Secretary-General of the Pan-Arab Parliament, Dr. Mishaal Al-Salami.
Shaikh Humood congratulated the Yemeni government and people on holding the first session of the House of Representatives, and Sultan Al-Brakani on his election as Speaker, wishing him success in carrying out this national responsibility.
He also stressed Bahrain’s position that supports Yemen’s stability and territorial integrity and the efforts aimed at reaching a peaceful solution based on the Gulf Initiative and its executive mechanism, the outputs of the national dialogue and Security Council Resolution 2216 (2015).
In his speech, President Hadi affirmed that the convening of the House of Representatives is evidence of the unification of all Yemenis with all their parties, and their sects based on legitimacy and national values.
The opening ceremony was also attended by Saudi Ambassador to Yemen, Mohammed bin Saeed Al Jaber, and UAE Ambassador to Yemen, Salim Bin Khalifa Al Ghafli.
