Annual Heritage Festival to kick off on Wednesday

Manama, Apr. 19 (BNA): Under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the 27th edition of the Annual Heritage Festival will kick off on April 24th and continue until May 3. The event will be organised by Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA) near Shaikh Salman bin Ahmed Al Fateh Fort in Riffa. This year’s festival is themed “Arabian Horses” to reflect an inherent part of Bahrain’s civilisation and history. BACA also pointed out that the festival will also offer the public a rich programme featuring local traditional handicrafts which are still practised by many Bahrainis. The event will also present an array of activities that will suit all ages, like workshops highlighting the authenticity and beauty of Arabian horses. The festival will also present a wide variety of folkloric shows, traditional and modern products as well as a traditional market and cafes. BACA affirmed that the annual organisation of the festival, which has been held under the patronage of HM the King since its launch in 1992, is an assertion of the richness of the local heritage.
