Public Security chief receives US Senate delegation

Manama, Apr.20 (BNA): Chief of Public Security Major-General Tariq Al Hassan has received a delegation from the US Congress as part of its official visits to Bahrain. The Chief welcomed the delegation and briefed its members on the Interior Ministry efforts to maintain safety for all. He also highlighted the Ministry’s modernisation and development strategy of security work founded by His Excellency Interior Minister, through training, hi-tech equipment and learning experiences of developed countries. He also focused on the continuing Iranian interference in the internal affairs of Bahrain which harmed Bahrain’s security and national economy as Iran supported, financed and trained terrorists and terrorism. He stressed the determination to continue security efforts to confront terrorist act and take necessary measures to foil such crimes to safeguard the lives of citizens and residents. The delegation toured an exhibition organised in the side-line of the visit, showcasing samples of weapons and explosives used by terrorist groups that were confiscated from 2011 until now, including ammunition, grenades and bombs, in addition to tools terrorists use to attack police personnel.
