PM provides field guidance to Rice and Commercial Crop Research Centre
(KPL) Mr. Bouasone Bouphavanh, Prime Minister of the Lao PDR, on Saturday provided on-the-spot guidance to the Rice and Commercial Crops Research Centre in Xaythany district, Vientiane Capital.
He inspected a rice research centre and explained government policy on agricultural production. He was accompanied by a number of senior officials from the ministry of agriculture and forestry.
At the center, he was briefed about the centre in front of the rice fields and looked round several places to learn about the facilities and production. Ms. Monthathip Chanhphengsay, Director General of the centre said that the centre is a key sector of the ministry of agriculture and forestry to contribute in the government’s strategy for poverty
reduction.
On the occasion, PM lavished praised on the outstanding performance of employees and specified tasks to be tackled in the management of the centre, especially the production of rice strain.
PM also urged all officials at the centre to continue to produce the rice seed with more high efficiency yield in term of quality and quantity. PM Bouasone Bouphavanh also inspected the working system, visited laboratory and the water pump station.
