Foreign Minister meets French counterpart

Paris , Apr.30 (BNA): The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, met with the French Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Jean-Yves Le Drian, on the sidelines of the visit of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to the French Republic. The Minister of Foreign Affairs expressed the Kingdom’s pride in its ties with the French Republic, stating that the visit of His Majesty the King reflects the high level of relations between the two countries in the economic, political, security and military fields. He added that the visit also shows the keenness of both countries to further develop bilateral cooperation and coordination on issues of mutual concern. He stated that during the meeting of His Majesty the King with President Emmanuel Macron, the two leaders discussed ways to further develop bilateral relations to achieve the aspirations of their people. They also agreed on strengthening coordination and exchanging views on regional and international issues to support the efforts aimed at consolidating peace, security and development in the region. For his part, the French Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs hailed the development of relations between the two countries. He also lauded the efforts of the Kingdom of Bahrain to preserve the security and stability of the region, wishing it further development and prosperity.
