STAR Oil Refinery supplies 84,000 tons of products to Petkim in 2019 Q1

Baku, May 11, AZERTAC The STAR Oil Refinery, constructed by the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) in the city of Izmir, Turkey, supplied 84,000 tons of petroleum products to Petkim in the first quarter of 2019 with naphtha making up 75,000 tons. The inauguration ceremony of the Star Oil Refinery, which is the first Turkey-specific Industrial Zone, was held in the city of Izmir, Turkey in October 2018. The plant will produce 5 million tons of diesel fuel, 1.5 million tons of naphtha, 1.6 million tons of aircraft fuel, 1 million tons of xylene / reformat, liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), oil coke and sulfur per year. Star has already launched the sale of its first products this year. The total investment of the project is $ 6.3 billion, of which 90 percent has been already invested. By the end of 2021, Star's total capacity will be increased. In the end, the investment will reach $7 billion.
