More cooperation needed to face regional challenges

Manama, May 19 (BNA): His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa has underscored the GCC leaders’ efforts to serve their peoples and countries and boost coordination to fast-track development and preserve national security and stability. He said the GCC countries have given lessons in the impact of unity and cohesion on the future of countries’ development and stability. He pointed out success of the UAE to set a development model and a success story which started in the era of late Shaikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and continued by his sons. HRH the Premier was speaking as he received today members of the royal family, senior officials and visiting Kuwaiti journalist and Editor-in-Chief of Kuwaiti Al-Khaleej newspaper Ahmed Ismail Bahbahani. He stressed deep-rooted fraternal relations and cooperation between Bahrain and Kuwait, taking pride in strong ties binding both countries and their steady growth. He lauded the key role of the Amir of Kuwait Shaikh Sabah Al Ahmed Al Jaber Al Sabah and his contributions to serving humanity and promoting peace and stability all over the world. He also praised the Kuwaiti Amir’s wealth of experience and wisdom in dealing with various regional and international issues. HRH the Prime Minister reiterated respect of the Bahraini people for Kuwait’s contribution to backing the development efforts in Bahrain, affirming the GCC leaders’ unrelenting efforts to boost the welfare of their countries and peoples. He asserted the need to bolster joint cooperation to face regional challenges, maintain security and stability and fast-track growth.
