HM King praises Saudi Monarch’s all-inclusive initiatives

Makkah, Jun. 1 (BNA): His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa has addressed the 14th Islamic Summit of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), held last night at Al-Safa Palace, under the chairmanship of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud. HM the King extended sincere thanks to the Saudi Monarch for calling for the OIC summit on the right timing amid the critical situation the Islamic world is going through. “This confirms Saudi Arabia’s political and spiritual leadership of the Islamic world, and that the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques is the initiator of all-inclusive initiatives and unified stances,” HM the King said, stressing Bahrain’s full-fledged support for Saudi Arabia through thick and thin, as well as for King Salman’s initiatives, for which he wished every success so that the peoples of the region would focus on building and advancing their countries, and the Islamic countries achieve their aspirations. “The current regional circumstances require the adoption of a practical formula for decisive and immediate solutions to the problems and crises we are witnessing, and their unnecessary repercussions. We find that their prolongation results in wasting our resources, constitutes a threat to our interests and affects our human march towards coexistence, and a safe and decent life that our peoples deserve,” HM the King added. In this regard, HM King Hamad stressed that “reaching a just and comprehensive solution” to the Palestinian cause is “at the forefront of such issues”, expressing hope that OIC would play an effective role in order to enable to brotherly Palestinian people to achieve their “legitimate right to set up a fully sovereign independent state on the borders of June 4, 1976, and with East Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with the Arab Peace Initiative, the two-state solution and the relevant international references.” “We also hope that our summit will lead to long-term initiatives that emphasise joint responsibility for establishing comprehensive security and stability in the region, supporting the international community in securing and protecting the flow of oil supplies and navigation, and demonstrating the effective and responsible role of the countries of the region in maintaining stability levels for global markets,” HM the King also said. “We believe that the voice of reason for which this estimated summit calls will come up with comprehensive visions of the future of our relations and alliances through stressing the need to abide by the principles of good neighborliness and mutual respect for the sovereignty and independence of states, as well as for non-interference in their internal affairs so as to reach an advanced stage in which our stances and policies vis-à-vis terrorism and extremism forces converge, in order to deter malicious attempts to deliberately sow divide, stir up sedition and weaken the Nation,” HM the King said, praying to Allah the Almighty to protect the Islamic Nation against evils, and to enable it to confront the current challenges and adhere to Sharia precepts of tolerance, moderation, co-existence and peace, for the best interests of the entire humanity. Concluding, HM King Hamad renewed thanks to the Saudi King for convening OIC Summit, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary, expressing deep pride in OIC’s achievements, and role in strengthening the Islamic bloc and unifying Muslims’ stances.
