ABU Robot Contest Thailand Championship 2019 set in mid-June

BANGKOK, June 7 (TNA) - MCOT Public Company Limited (MCOT), a most established Thai media firm, will join forces with the company's business partners, including PTT Public Company Limited (PTT), to organize the ABU Robot Contest Thailand Championship 2019 (ABU Robocon Thailand 2019) in mid-June. A total of 16 teams of Thai students at the higher educational level will compete in the ABU Robocon Thailand 2019, set to be held at the Zeer Rangsit shopping center on the outskirts of Bangkok on June 16. The 16 contesting Thai youth teams will have to each develop a messenger robot with its required mission on bringing a golden plate to another automatic robot, reflecting a Mongolian traditional culture. The champion team from the ABU Robocon Thailand 2019, themed GREAT URTUU, which completes the mission with the best time, will then represent the Thai Kingdom in the ABU Asia-Pacific Robot Contest 2019 (ABU Robocon 2019) in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia's capital, later this year. Meanwhile, MCOT President Khematat Paladej said that the ABU Robocon Thailand is one of the Kingdom's three national-level robotic contesting stages, aimed to help enhance the competitiveness of Thai students in science and technology, as well as innovations. Khematat acknowledged that the champion team of the ABU Robocon Thailand in each year also has a good opportunity to gain more knowledge and experiences while taking part in the ABU Robocon, which benefits the national economy and education, as well as the national science and technology development eventually. The ABU Robocon Thailand 2019, also dubbed the MCOT-ABU 2019, which is the 18th of its kind organized by MCOT, will be live broadcast at MCOT Family digital TV channel (14) and two Facebook pages, namely MCOT Digital and ABU Robocon Thailand.
