Yemen, donors to hold 3rd review meeting next Sunday

SANA'A, April 02 (Saba) - Yemeni government and donors community is
to hold their 3rd consultative meeting in Sana'a next Sunday.

The meeting will be chaired by Minister of Planning and
International Cooperation Abdul Karim al-Arhabi, Deputy-Chairman of
World Bank for Middle East and North Africa Daniela Gressani, and
Deputy-Chairman of Saudi Fund for Development Yousef Bin Ibrahim
Al-basam.

Local and foreign parts representing the concerned authorities in
the Yemeni government, civil society, donors' community and
development partners from Gulf funds and international organization
would participate in the meeting, General Director of International
Cooperation at Ministry of Planning Nabil Shaiba made clear.

The meeting will deal with the mid-term assessment for the third
five-year plan for development and poverty reduction in light of the
current facts and challenges, Shaiban added.

Furthermore, the meeting will review implementations of the
government and also donors' commitments as well as plans and
priorities of the national reforms agenda during the next two years
left of the 3rd five-year plan 2006-2010.

Shaiban indicated that there will be some interventions by the
government, donors, and participants for promoting the joint work
and activating the donors' pledges so as to serve the overall
development and the 3rd five-year plan implementation.

It is wroth to mention that al-Arhabi chaired last month a meeting
for reviewing the mid-term assessment for the 3rd five year plan and
upgrading reforms package for 2009-2010.

Holding this meeting comes within the Yemeni government and donors
pledges to fulfill their commitments to hold regular meetings for
review and assessment of the achievements since the London Donor
Conference ,held in November 2006.
