(KPL) Vietnam and Laos convened a meeting on upgrading the border marker system, in Luang Prabang, Laos, from March 26-29, in a friendly and mutual confidential climate.
Border experts from the two countries reached a consensus to kick off a project on planting border markers at the border gates and residential quarters for economic development from April 1.
They also discussed concrete measures to implement the second quarter plan for border marker planting teams, approved technical documents and exchanged views on several other issues regarding the border marker planting and border management.
The meeting, the fourth round of negotiations on border issues at the expert level, served as a solid ground for the two countries to strengthen and upgrade their border marker system.
The Vietnamese delegation at the event was led by Nguyen Hong Thao, Deputy Director of the National Border Committee under the Foreign Ministry, and the other side led by Phukhau Phama Vongsa, Head of the Office of the National Border Committee under the Lao Foreign
