FOUR TAIWANESE CHARGED WITH DRUG TRAFFICKING

JOHOR BAHARU (Malaysia), April 3 (Bernama) -- Four Taiwanese men were
charged in the Magistrate's Court here Friday with trafficking in 1,439kg of
Eramin 5 drug last month.

Chung Sheng Wen, 36, Chang Yen Ming, 34, Chang Yung Hseng, 30, and Wu
Sheng Yuan, 30, were alleged to have committed the offence at a factory in Jalan
Angkasa Emas 6, Tebrau industrial estate, here at 5.30am on March 22.

No plea was recorded.

If convicted they face the mandatory death sentence for trafficking.

Magistrate Hafizah Johor Ariff Johor fixed July 3 for mention. No bail was
given.

Deputy public prosecutor Husmin Hussin appeared for the prosecution while
the Taiwanese were represented by counsel Dr Naran Singh and G. K Sritharan.
