In a statement to Bahrain News Agency (BNA) on the sidelines of the forum, Egypt’s Minister of Environment, Dr. Yasmine Fouad, attached significance to the subjects raised in the forum, noting benefiting from Bahrain’s experience in the use of non-biodegradable plastic bags, as well as the exploitation of renewable energy. The minister said a memorandum of understanding between the Kingdom of Bahrain and Egypt today was signed on environment conservation, air and water pollution control, biodiversity protection, waste management, climate change and the promotion of sustainable development goals. The UAE Acting Assistant Undersecretary of the Green Development and Climate Change Sector of the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment, Fahed Al Hammadi, told BNA that the forum complements the World Green Economy Summit held in the UAE 2014, saying the World Green Economy Organization aims to establish an international platform to boost cooperation among governments, private sectors and the international community for addressing environmental degradation to benefit future of current and next generations.
