VP VISITS BUNTET ISLAMIC BOARDING SCHOOL IN CIREBON
Cirebon, Indonesia, April 3 (ANTARA) - Vice President Jusuf Kalla visited Buntet Islamic boarding school in Cirebon, West Java, on Friday but it was not part of his election campaign rally for Golkar Party that he chairs.
The vice president arrived at the location at 11.25 on Friday morning and was greeted by the school leader KH Adib Rafiuddin who then ushered Kalla to the residence of KH Nahditun Royan Abbas for a friendship gathering.
Kalla came to the Buntet Islamic boarding school at the invitation from the school to attend its anniversary on Saturday but the vice president made the visit a day earlier because he would attend a Golkar Party campaign rally on Saturday.
After the meeting with the leaders of the school, the vice president would perform Friday prayer and then return to Jakarta.
Several other national leaders such as President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, Megawati Soekarnoputri, Akbar Tanjung were also invited to attend the Buntet Islamic boarding school's anniversary on Saturday.***
