Ceramics of Makeup Ware, National Intangible Cultural Heritage

Pyongyang, June 24 (KCNA) -- Makeup ware is one of the Korean nation's peculiar ceramic heritages. The makeup ware, created in the latter half of Koryo Kingdom (918-1392), was developed on a full scale in the first half of the feudal Joson dynasty (1392-1910). It is characterized by diverse patterns and ornamental effect. Typical of makeup wares in the country is a ware with pattern of creeper. The makeup ware represents feelings, emotion and hobby of the Korean people with soft color and creative technique. Ceramics of makeup ware was listed as a national intangible cultural heritage in October Juche 106 (2017). -0-
