EYOF Baku 2019: Wrestling competitions kick off

Baku, July 21, AZERTAC The wrestling competitions of the 15th Summer European Youth Olympic Festival - "EYOF Baku 2019" have got underway at the Heydar Aliyev Sports Palace. On the first day of the competitions Azerbaijani freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestlers will contest medals in the 45kg and 55kg weight categories. Greco-Roman wrestlers Farid Sadigli (45 kg) and Nihad Mammadli (55 kg), and freestyle wrestlers Murad Hagverdiyev (45 kg) and Abulfaz Nasirov (55 kg) are Azerbaijan`s medal hopefuls on the day one of the festival. During the three-day wrestling competitions Azerbaijan’s hopes will be pinned on 6 freestyle, 6 Greco-Roman and 6 women wrestlers. Wrestling joined the sport programme for the first time in the EYOF history.
