Customs President issues order streamlining procedures on King Fahad Causeway

Manama, July 29 (BNA): The President of Customs, Shaikh Ahmed bin Hamad Al Khalifa issued today a decision for pre-customs clearance on King Fahad Causeway. The move aims to simplify customs procedures and avoid the piling of trucks on the causeway. The owners of goods, their representatives and customs clearance agents should per the decision present the customs statements from the Customs Affairs and part the customs taxes and fees before the arrival of the import products to the causeway and finish the customs and non-customs related procedures in less than 30 minutes that are counted from the arrival of the transport vehicle to the first customs point in Bahrain's side. The products that required additional time to get approval from the supervisory authorities would be given exceptions. The Customs Affairs urged to get the pre-approval to avoid the delay, and it is prohibited to keep the vehicles at the customs yard after they are cleared. The decision doesn't include customs statements related to direct e-transfer of the customs statements issued by the Saudi sides of the causeway's customs and goods referred from passenger inspection section, as well as what the Customs Affairs might decide to exclude.
