Foreign Ministry holds farewell ceremony for Saudi Ambassador

Manama, July 30 (BNA): The Ministry of Foreign Affairs held today at its General Court a farewell ceremony for the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the Kingdom of Bahrain, Abdullah Abdulmalik Al Sheikh, marking the end of his diplomatic term at the Kingdom of Bahrain. During the ceremony, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for International Affairs, Dr. Shaikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa expressed the Kingdom’s pride in its deep-rooted brotherly relations with Saudi Arabia, adding that such relations are a role model for brotherhood, solidarity and partnership that is based on a mutual vision and destiny as well as comprehensive cooperation. He also expressed his appreciation for the efforts exerted by the Saudi Ambassador to the Kingdom of Bahrain during his term, which have strengthened cooperation between the two countries at all levels, in light of the strategic historic relations between them. The Undersecretary for International Affairs stressed that Abdullah Abdulmalik Al Sheikh has shown distinguished capabilities that reflected the honourable and pioneering image of Saudi diplomacy, adding that he also presented a rich diplomatic experience that matches the role of Saudi Arabia and its regional and international status, as well as its firm stances towards Arab and Islamic issues. Ambassador Al Sheikh expressed his appreciation for the support he has received from the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the ministry’s officials during his term at the Kingdom of Bahrain. He also stressed the keenness of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to enhance the relations between the two Kingdoms at all levels, wishing the Kingdom of Bahrain further progress and prosperity. At the end of the ceremony, Dr. Shaikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa presented the Saudi Ambassador to the Kingdom of Bahrain with a commemorative gift, wishing him further success. The ceremony was attended by a number of officials at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ambassadors accredited to the Kingdom.
