SE Qld severe weather warning cancelled

There is a lull in the storms that have been battering southeast Queensland since
Thursday.
A severe weather warning that was issued for the southeast region on Sunday morning
has been cancelled after the rain remained offshore.
Weather forecasters on Sunday morning had warned people to brace themselves for more
flash flooding after a spate of wild weather lashed the area.
Bureau of Meteorology forecaster Bryan Rolstone said while showers were still
expected overnight, the conditions had calmed.
"There's some rain offshore ... the wind doesn't look like it's going to develop
until tomorrow," Mr Rolstone told AAP.
Monday will see early rain with freshening winds during the day, he said.
Overnight there were unofficial reports of 200mm of rain in two-and-a-half hours at
Jimboomba, south of Brisbane, overnight.
Up to 50mm of rain was recorded in the region from Mt Glorious, northwest of
Brisbane, to the Gold Coast hinterland.
The wild weather wreaked havoc and caused the death of an elderly woman whose car
was swept off a crossing in the Sunshine Coast hinterland during Thursday's flash
floods.
Conditions are expected to ease mid-week.
