Royal initiatives to promote tolerance praised

Moscow, Aug. 1 (BNA): Board of Trustees Chairman of the King Hamad Global Centre for Peaceful Co-existence Shaikh Khalid bin Khalifa Al Khalifa held a meeting with Chief Rabbi of Russia Berel Lazar, on the sidelines of his current visit to Moscow to boost cooperation with renowned religious, academic and research institutions in Russia. Shaikh Khalid briefed Rabbi Berel Lazar on Bahrain’s pioneering experience in the Middle East in the field of tolerance, peaceful coexistence and acceptance of the other. He also informed him about the main goals and activities of the King Hamad Global Centre for Peaceful Coexistence which emanate from the directives and visions of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa in promoting peace and renouncing hatred. Shaikh Khalid reviewed the main features of Bahrain’s unique model in tolerance, peaceful coexistence and religious freedom. He expressed sincerest thanks to Rabbi Berel Lazar for his keenness to boost coordination between Bahrain and Russia to foster the culture of tolerance and peaceful coexistence among all. He pointed out keenness of the King Hamad Global Centre for Peaceful Coexistence to represent all components of the Bahraini community and set a small image of the Bahraini policy. He also underlined the royal keenness to provide support and a favourable environment for the Jewish families to continue their life in the kingdom and cater to their needs. Rabbi Berel Lazar praised the distinguished royal steps in fostering tolerance and peaceful coexistence, considering this trend as rare at a time the majority of the leaders focus on political, economic and technological issues and ignore the importance of peaceful coexistence in settling conflicts, serving mankind and achieving sustainable development and stability. He also expressed appreciation of Bahrain’s hosting “Peace for Prosperity” workshop, describing it as a crucial step within the framework of the international efforts to promote peace and ensure a brighter future for the region.
