HRH Premier calls for concerted efforts to promote global peace

Manama, Aug. 7 (BNA): His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa has called on the International Community to step up its efforts to lay the foundations for a stable and peaceful world in which peoples enjoy prosperity and welfare. HRH Premier underliend Bahrain's firm approach and efforts to establish peace and pursue the path of development. “Bahrain is a country of peace and coexistence. It supports all initiatives and efforts aimed at achieving safe and stable life for all,” he said. The Prime Minister stressed that Bahrain has earned global respect thanks to its balanced policies and moderate approach in dealing with various regional and international issues, and is looking forward to a world in which peace prevails, and countries’ efforts are focused on sustainable development. HRH Premier emphasised that Bahrain backs all efforts aimed at promoting peace and stability, especially in light of the on-going regional and international developments which impose an unstable reality that requires comprehensive coordination at all levels. HRH the Prime Minister made the statements as he received, at the Gudaibiya Palace today, heads of diplomatic missions and representatives of international organisations accredited to the Kingdom, who extended to him sincere congratulations marking the UN’s declaration of the 5th of April of each year as an “International Day of Conscience”, based on an initiative launched by him earlier this year. During the audience, HRH Premier delivered a speech in which he welcomed the heads of diplomatic missions and representatives of international organisations accredited to the Kingdom, and expressed deepest thanks and appreciation to them for taking the initiative to extend congratulations to him on behalf of their countries and organisations. The Prime Minister commended the efforts of the heads of diplomatic missions and their cooperation to strengthen relations between their countries and the Kingdom, stressing Bahrain’s keenness to strengthen its relations with their countries and develop bilateral cooperation with them. HRH Premier pointed out that Bahrain has launched many global initiatives to support peace and stability in the world, expressing delight at the UN’s adoption of his initiative to declare the 5th of April of each year as an “International Day of Conscience”. The Prime Minister extended thanks and appreciation to the United Nations for its positive response to his initiative, and efforts in serving the noble goals and objectives aimed at spreading love and peace throughout the world. Saudi Ambassador to Bahrain, Dr. Abdulla bin Abdulmalik Al Al-Shaikh, extended on behalf of the ambassadors, sincere congratulations to HRH Premier on the UN’s adoption of his initiative, noting that the exploit crowns the Prime Minister’s tireless efforts to achieve peace and promote the values of tolerance and co-existence, as the best means to achieve sustainable development goals in Bahrain, the region and the entire world. The landmark initiative adds to HRH Premier’s multiple contributions and achievements in all fields, and reflects the distinguished international status and weight enjoyed by the Prime Minister thanks to his initiatives and efforts in support of global peace, he said. The Saudi envoy added that HRH Premier’s initiative embodies the sound approach adopted by the kingdom, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, in enhancing the values and principles of tolerance and co-existence, and promoting the culture of peace and security. It also reflects the effective and influential role played by Bahrain to consolidate global peace and combat all forms of intolerance, violence and terrorism, he said, praying to Allah the Almighty to bless HRH Premier with abundant health and happiness so as to continue his efforts to achieve more progress, prosperity, security and stability, under HM the King’s leadership. Heads of diplomatic missions and representatives of international organisations extended heartfelt congratulations to HRH the Prime Minister for the UN’s adoption of his initiative, noting that the Premier is a wise statesman and a source of inspiration for all Arab countries and peoples. Palestinian Ambassador to Bahrain, Taha Mohammed Abdulqader, affirmed that the UN’s adoption of HRH Premier’s initiative is a historic achievement not only for Bahrain, but also for the Arab and Islamic nations. "You are wise and inspiring to all Arab countries and peoples. Your initiatives represent a historic step for the Arab and Islamic nations," he told HRH Premier.
