Maoists blast dynamite in schools, no injuries reported

Munger/Aurangabad (Bihar), Apr 6 (PTI) Heavily armed
Maoist guerrillas Monday blew up an empty school building in
India's northern state Bihar's Munger district and attempted
to explode another in Aurangabad district, police said here
Monday.

Around 50 heavily armed Maoists stormed a primary
school at Bhimbandh Wildlife Sanctuary in Kharagpur police
station limits in the wee hours and destroyed its newly-built
building using dynamites, station house officer Arvind Kumar
told PTI.

All the four rooms of the building were damaged, he said,
adding nobody was present inside the school.

In the second incident, over 150 Maoists swooped on
Kataki village in Aurangabad district and exploded a dynamite
at a state-run school. However, the building was not damaged
as the explosive was of low-grade, police said.

The Maoists took away the generator set at the school,
police said.

Maoists, who have called for a boycott of Lok Sabha
polls, had recently blasted two schools in Jamui and Gaya
districts. PTI CORR
