Security situations in Abyan stable, says Defense Minister


SANA'A, April 09 (Saba)-Security situations in Ja'ar district, Abyan
have been restored after security forces succeeded in cracking down
on outlaw elements who committed terrorist and sabotage acts, said
Defense Minister Mohammad Ahmad.

The minister, who monitored the security campaign upon directives
from the president, said that he had worked with the local authority
in Abyan on restoring security and stability in Ja'ar city and
cleansing it of outlaw elements.

The defense minister affirmed that the military campaign has avoided
any humanitarian of material losses.

Meanwhile Governor of Abyan Ahmad al-Maisary affirmed that the
outlaw acts the city has witnessed were riots carried out by
criminal elements with aggressive motivations made them addict to
drugs and practice illegal activities. They committed sabotage acts,
looting, intermittency, bombings and killing innocents.

Initial investigations with the arrested elements revealed links to
al-Qae'da to carry out terrorist acts, said the governor. He added
the security forces are currently patrolling the area to crack down
on suspected still in large.
