Governor announces development of non-planned areas in Makkah

Jeddah, April 12, SPA -- Prince Khalid Al-Faisal, the Governor of
Makkah region, has announced the project of developing non-planned
areas in Makkah.


At a meeting with more than 600 citizens in Makkah region, including
youth and students on the fringes of the annual meeting for the
strategy of development of Makkah region, hosted by Dar al-Hikma for
girls, Prince Khalid said the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King
Abdullah bin Abdulaziz has approved the project.


He noted that a ministerial committee has been formed comprising
Prince Miteb bin Abdulaziz, the Minister of municipal and rural
affairs; Prince Naif bin Abdulaziz, the second deputy premier and
interior minister, as well as ministers of finance and labor in
addition to the governor of Makkah region.


Prince Khalid noted that the committee had held a meeting and a
preparatory committee has been formed under the chairmanship of
Governor of Makkah region and membership of all authorities
represented at the higher committee and other concerned authorities.


Prince Khalid said the committee has submitted a study to the King
and the King has approved the project, and subsequently the
preparatory committee has been named the executive committee.
