Information Minister hails police efforts

Manama, Dec.4 (BNA): Information Affairs Minister, Bahrain Institute of Political Development (BIPD) Board of Trustees’ Chairman Ali bin Mohammed Al-Romaihi paid tribute the police of Bahrain, hailing their dedicated efforts to serve nation and protect its security and stability. He hailed the police for their sacrifices and unwavering allegiance to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa and loyalty to the Kingdom of Bahrain as well as keenness on the development, progress and prosperity of the homeland. He extended deepest congratulations to Minister of Interior General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al-Khalifa and all the ministry’ affiliates, on the ceremony of the police centenary, which was held under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa. He expressed deepest thanks and gratitude to the police, hailing their dedication, sincerity and competence to protect the lives and properties of citizens and residents, protect social peace, promote the civil defence and traffic safety and combat terrorism, violence, addiction, corruption, economic and electronic crimes – all in the framework of commitment to the rulele of law and respect for human rights and dignity, in accordance with the Constitution, the law and the principles of the Police Code of Conduct. He commended partnership with the judiciary, the National Institution of Human Rights(NIHR), the Ombudsman, the Commission on the Rights of Prisoners and Detainees, and others in accordance with international human rights standards. The minister stressed the keenness of the national media to highlight the honourable police achievements and sacrifices in defending the homeland security and public safety, and supporting its pioneering initiatives within the "National Plan to promote national belonging and consolidate the values of citizenship". He said that the dedicated police efforts deserved to be honoured by HM the King and merited the confidence of the community, and gained the respect and appreciation of the world, as reflected in the achievement of Bahrain which ranked fourth in the world in the security index, third in dealing with organized crimes, and fifth in the merit of police services, according to the Global Competitiveness Report 2019 issued by the World Economic Forum.
