PAKISTAN PM'S WIFE TO ATTEND EARLY CHILDHOOD CARE CONFERENCE IN KL

KUALA LUMPUR, April 14 (Bernama) -- Wife of Pakistan Prime Minister, Begum Fauzia Yousaf Raza Gilani is expected to deliver a speech at an International Conference here on Early Childhood Care and Education on Wednesday.

The Pakistan High Commission in a statement here Monday said, Begum Fauzia
will be leading a delegation to the conference, including Pakistan Member of
National Assembly Nafeesa Shah and Member Provincial Assembly Syed Abdul Qadir
Gilani.

The delegation is expected to arrive Tuesday for the three-day conference
and speak on the topic "Health and Nutrition: Critical Factors for Child
Survival and Development."

Begum Fauzia is a known active social worker as she was the chief of
earthquake relief operations at King Edward Medical College/Mayo Hospital in
Mansehra, Pakistan for four months.

The conference, themed "Developing Human Capital Begins With Children" is
jointly organised by Malaysia, United Nations Children's Fund (Unicef) and
National Association of Early Childhood Care and Education (NAECCEM) is expected
to be opened by Prime Minister Najib Razak Tuesday.

Leading experts from Malaysia, United States, Canada, United Kingdom,
Sweden, New Zealand and Australia would be present.
