Mongolia-India student exchange program kicks off

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Mongolia and the Republic of India are to implement a student exchange program for the first time with the Indian Ambassador’s support. Under the program, which is being implemented within the celebration of the 65th anniversary of the establishment of bilateral diplomatic relations, 21 students and three teachers from Mongolia will be studying at the Cambridge International School in Phagwara, India between January 12 and 26. Ambassador of India to Mongolia M.P.Singh and officials of the Embassy of India in Mongolia O.P.Meena and Rajendra Jha Manan attended the program's launch ceremony held on January 8, wishing success to the students. In his remarks at the event, General Director of Empathy Yurtunts LLC B.Ganbat underlined the program aims to promote healthy relations between the young people of the two countries, saying, “In June, Indian students will visit Mongolia as well. The program involves those who meet certain criteria in addition to having English skills. I am sure the program will continue to run in the future” This time, high schoolers from Ulaanbaatar Empathy School, Orkhon Empathy School, Darkhan Empathy School, Bayan-Ulgii Empathy School, and Ulaanbaatar Elite International School will be involved in the program. Ninth grader of Orkhon Empathy School E.Galbadrakh said, “I am delighted to be part of this program. Mongolia and India have long-standing friendly relations. My father studied geology in India. Therefore, I also will learn a lot from the country” Taking classes and participating in arts and after-school activities, the Mongolian children will have the opportunity to visit the Golden Temple in Amritsar, Taj Mahal in Agra, Red Fort in New Delhi, and other historic landmarks during their journey.
