Azerbaijan, France discuss prospects of relations

Paris, January 9, AZERTAC As part of his working visit to France, Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan, Head of the Department of Foreign Policy Affairs of the Presidential Administration Hikmat Hajiyev has held a number of meetings with French officials. Hikmat Hajiyev met with diplomatic advisor to the cabinet of the French President Emmanuel Bonne, advisor to the Ministry of the Defense Xavier Chatel and Director of Continental Europe Department of the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs of France Frédéric Mondoloni. Assistant to the First Vice-President of Azerbaijan Elchin Amirbayov and Azerbaijan's Ambassador to France Rahman Mustafayev were also present at the meetings. The sides hailed the development of bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and France, and expressed their interest in deepening these ties. Hajiyev praised the important role of President Ilham Aliyev and First Vice-President Mehriban Aliyeva in developing Azerbaijan-France relations. The meetings focused on the current state and prospects of bilateral and regional cooperation between Azerbaijan and France. The sides also exchanged views on the settlement of the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. French Co-Chair of the OSCE Minsk Group Stephane Visconti also attended the meeting held at the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs of France.
