“Milton Lipp - Early years of Bapco” exhibition to be held on Sunday

Manama, Jan. 10 (BNA): An exhibition and a lecture highlighting the role of Milton Lipp in shaping the history of oil in Bahrain will be held on Sunday.
The "Milton Lipp - Early years of Bapco" exhibition will be opened at 11 am at the Bahrain National Museum.
A lecture, to be delivered in English, will follow at 12:30, according to Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA) and co-organizers.
According to The Islander, published by Bahrain Petroleum Company (Bapco), Milton Lipp worked in Bapco during the days when #1 & 2 Crude Units were built. He was the first Refinery Manager and subsequently the Resident Vice President.
Milton Lipp has been lauded by Bapco as a member of a distinguished group of Bapco’s senior figures who played an active role in building and propelling forward an organization which has grown to become a household name in Bahrain and a regional dynamo on the energy scene today.
His prominent role and involvement in Bapco, from the time the refinery was inaugurated through his retirement as Resident Vice-President in 1960 has left a mark that is a definite source of pride to Bapco.
In May 2014, his grandson, Dough Lipp and his wife Pam and son Keith visited Bahrain from the United States to donate various photographs and documents to the company archive from Milton Lipp’s family collection.
The rare collection of old photos and materials dateds back to the early days of Bapco, making it of a highly significant value to the oil company and to Bahrain.
