Shura Chairman praises Bahraini women empowerment efforts

Manama, Feb. 5 (BNA): Shura Council Chairman Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh praised the great support accorded to Bahraini women by Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Wife of His Majesty the King and President of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW). He lauded their achievements and advanced status at the regional and international level, commending the ambitious initiatives and quality programmes aimed at boosting women’s role and success. The Shura Council Chairman was speaking as he received today, alongside the council’s Secretary General Chancellor Osama Ahmed Al Asfoor, HRH Princess Sabeeka Bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa Award for Bahraini Women Empowerment. The Shura Council won first place in the award’s sixth edition. Al Saleh pointed out the importance of holding competitions in highlighting the continuous efforts of official institutions to boost women’s development. The Shura Council Secretary General took pride in the achievement, describing it as the dividend of the Shura Council Chairman’s directives and keenness to promote the principle of equal opportunity and enable the female staff of the Secretariat General to perform their role competently.
