UAE Minister for Food Security: Hawrat Aali achieves food security in Bahrain

Manama, Feb. 6 (BNA): UAE Minister of Food Security Mariam bint Saeed Hareb Al Mehiri has highlighted the importance of Hawrat Aali in achieving food security in Bahrain and affirmed her country's interest in partnering with Bahrain to enhance efforts in this aspect. The minister expressed her delight at witnessing Bahrain's successful experience as she visited Hawrat Aali with the Minister of Works, Municipality Affairs and Urban Planning Esam bin Abdullah Khalaf. The Hawrat is receiving special government attention because of the assets that the region possesses and that qualify it to contribute strongly to supporting the government's strategy to achieve sustainable food security for Bahrain, the minister said. He added that 19 Bahraini farmers had signed contracts to benefit from the plots of land at the Hawrat and that several companies were also contributing from there to Bahrain's food security efforts.
