Day of Election Silence in Azerbaijan

Baku, February 8, AZERTAC A pre-election campaign regarding early parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan ended at 8 o’clock today, secki-2020.az reports. Pursuant to Articles 72.3, 74.1.2, 74.1.4, 75.2 of the Election Code, pre-election campaigns carried out by registered candidates, political parties whose candidates have been registered, political factions, and authoritative representatives should be stopped 24 hours before the start of the voting. In line with the election laws, no election campaign or rallies are allowed on the day of voting and the day before it, which is called the Day of Election Silence. The election campaign in Azerbaijan started on January 17. The early parliamentary elections will be held on February 9.
