Cabinet Affairs Minister receives UN Under-Secretary General

Manama, Feb. 17 (BNA): Cabinet Affairs Minister Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al Mutawa, the Chairman of the National Committee for Information and Population, received today the UN Under-Secretary General and Executive Secretary of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for West Asia (ESCWA) Dr. Rola Dashti. He hailed cooperation with ESCWA in organising a workshop on exchanging data between the UN agencies and public institutions, lauding the key role played by the international commission in helping countries with their development programmes and boosting international cooperation to overcome challenges. Dr. Rola Dashti stressed the significance of boosting awareness of the importance of information and the mechanisms to deal with it. She also emphasised keenness of ESCWA to provide more support to the Kingdom of Bahrain.
