MALAYSIA READY TO BE ALTERNATIVE VENUE FOR PAKISTAN

KUALA LUMPUR, April 16 (Bernama) -- Malaysia are ready to become the alternative venue (home away from home) for Pakistan's cricket matches so that all their international matches that were cancelled due to safety reasons, can be played here.

Malaysian Cricket Association (MCA) honorary secretary C. Sivanandan said
since Malaysia already has two world class cricket venues, certified by the
International Cricket Council (ICC) to host test matches and One Day
Internationals (ODI), MCA are making the offer to Pakistan.

"The Bayu Emas Oval in Klang and the Kinrara Oval in Puchong have already
staged world class international cricket matches and we already have the
facilities, expertise and the people to assist Pakistan in hosting matches," he
told Bernama here Wednesday.

After an attack on the visiting Sri Lanka cricket team by a group of armed
terrorist in Lahore last month, foreign countries and teams are reluctant to
travel to Pakistan to play cricket matches.

During the incident, six police officers and the driver of the Sri Lankan
team bus was killed in the shootout while a number of Sri Lankan players were
injured.

However, according to Sivanandan, MCA have yet to receive any feedback on
the offer, from the Pakistan Cricket Board.
