Education Minister to patronise regional conference

Manama, Feb. 20 (BNA): The Regional Gulf Sports Conference is set to kick off on February 25 under the patronage of Education Minister Dr. Majid bin Ali Al Nuaimi. Delegations from the GCC countries and the United Kingdom will participate in the three-day event organised by the British Cultural Council to celebrate the conclusion of the Youth Sports Leadership (YSL) programme it has been implementing in the GCC countries since 2017. The conference will shed light on success stories of the participating countries in the project to benefit from and generalize them. It will also give the opportunity to more than 100 teachers and young leaders to celebrate their achievements and successful participation in the Youth Sports Award, which is considered a pillar in the programme. The Youth Sports Leadership programme, delivered by the UK-based Youth Sport Trust International, aims to improve student’s interpersonal skills such as teamwork, critical thinking, leadership and problem-solving as well as empowering women in sports and promoting healthy lifestyles.
