Foreign Minister receives NIHR Chairperson

Manama, Feb. 23 (BNA): Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, received in his office at the Ministry’s General Court today, the Chairperson of the National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR), Maria Khoury, as well as the vice chairperson of NIHR, Khalid Abdul-Aziz Al-Shaer. The Minister welcomed Maria Khoury, expressing his deep appreciation for the role the NIHR is playing in promoting the human rights respect culture, which is one of the main pillars of development in the Kingdom of Bahrain. Dr. Al-Zayani also stressed the keenness of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on supporting all the programmes and initiatives launched by the NIHR, as well as enhancing joint cooperation with them. He also wished everyone at NIHR further success. Maria Khoury congratulated the Minister of Foreign Affairs on the precious royal trust bestowed upon him through his appointment to his post. She also expressed her appreciation for the existing cooperation between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and NIHR, which, she said, helps NIHR achieve all its objectives.
