Speaker: Royal speech roadmap for future

Manama, Feb. 24 (BNA): Representatives Council Speaker Fawzia bint Abdullah Zainal praised the wise vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, describing it as an action plan for all branches and institutions and an incentive for the Representatives Council to boost efforts in assuming the constitutional duties as well as the legislative and monitoring role. The Representatives Council Speaker asserted keenness on building on previous achievements by upgrading the legal and legislative system in order to achieve citizens’ aspirations and meet their needs. This came during a meeting today with His Majesty the King who received her and her Deputies as well as Head and members of the committee in charge of replying to HM the King’s speech. HM the King was presented with a reply to the royal speech given in the inauguration of the second session of the fifth legislative term. He was also presented with the first edition of the electronic minutes within the framework of the parliamentary electronic transformation. The Representatives Council Speaker described the royal address as a roadmap for legislative work that copes with contemporary changes to support digital economy and invest in artificial intelligence, in cooperation with the executive branch.
