Foreign Minister meets with Human Rights Council President

Geneva, Feb. 26 (BNA): The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Alzayani, met with President of the Human Rights Council, Elizabeth Tichy-Fisslberger, on the sidelines of the 43rd session of the Human Rights Council in Geneva. The meeting was attended by Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs, Abdulla bin Faisal bin Jabur Al Doseri, the Ambassador of the permanent mission of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the United Nations Office and other international organizations, Dr. Yusuf AbdulKarim Bucheeri, and the delegation accompanying the Minister.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs stressed keenness of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa on boosting human rights, protecting freedom and promoting cooperation with relevant organisations. He pointed out the kingdom’s achievements in this respect, noting the efforts of the Human Rights Council in spreading a culture of human rights in all countries of the world. He stressed the Kingdom of Bahrain's aspiration to upgrade cooperation and coordination with the Human Rights Council to broader levels that serve common goals.
For her part, Elizabeth Tichy Fisslberger, congratulated Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani on the royal trust in appointing him as Minister of Foreign Affairs, noting the participation of the Minister in the meetings of the 43rd session of the Human Rights Council. She expressed keenness on more cooperation in the field of human rights, wishing the Kingdom of Bahrain continued progress and prosperity. (MOFA)
