Speaker affirms parliamentary support for human rights

Manama, Mar. 16 (BNA): Speaker Fawzia bint Abdulla Zainal, met the Head and members of the Human Rights Committee in Representatives’ Council, on Arab Human Rights Day. She stressed that the order by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to pardon some convicts proved his keenness to consolidate advanced humanitarian practices. The parliamentary support for human rights work emphasized the importance of societal efforts in promoting a culture of human rights under the leadership of HM King, she said.
