Expert society: Bahrain's crisis management is model to be emulated

Manama, Mar. 18 (BNA): Bahrain Society for Strategic Planning chairperson Dr Hala Sulaibeekh has commended the National Taskforce for Combating Coronavirus (COVID-19) for its nationwide and steady efforts to contain the virus and prevent its spread in Bahrain. The National taskforce under the leadership of His Royal Highness Prince Salman, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and the First Deputy Prime Minister, has become a role model in taking measures and managing crises as announced by the World Health organization (WHO) Regional Office for the Eastern Mediterranean, she said. "The economic stimulus package to support the country’s citizens and private sector and counter the effects of the coronavirus (COVID-19) announced by the government at this critical time indicates the readiness, effectiveness and resilience of the government's strategic plans to contain the various changes that the country is going through to confront the coronavirus," she said. "I am sure that such efforts will provide lessons and references for all efforts and initiatives by Bahrain and which are among the best practices based on scientific foundations and evidence in managing crises." The society is working on preparing a set of future strategic plans to contribute to crisis management, adopting a strategic approach to work, spreading awareness about the importance of strategic planning in all areas and encouraging related studies and research, she added.
