MAS OFFERS OVER 1 MLN SEATS AT DISCOUNTS

DUBAI, April 17 (Bernama) -- Malaysia Airlines (MAS) customers have every
reason to smile as the nation carrier will be offering over one million seats at
a discount.

Among others, it is offering return airfares from as low as 1,070 dirhams
(100 dirhams = RM95.16) to Malaysia, 1,100 dirhams to Association of South-East
Asian Nations destinations and 2,000 dirhams to Australia, exclusive of taxes
and surcharges.

Merina Abu Tahir, MAS regional general manager for Middle East and Africa,
said the low fares and best deals had been lined up for customers to experience
a five-star journey.

The tickets are available during the Malaysia Airlines Travel Fair 2009 from
Apr 19 to May 5, 2009. The travel period starts from Apr 19 to June 15, 2009,
and from Aug 20 to Sept 30.

"The offers are incredible in view of the economic downturn. The customers
can now buy one business class ticket to Kuala Lumpur (KL) and enjoy a 50 per
cent discount on the second ticket," she said.

Merina said the customers should also look out for special packages like
Showcase Malaysia from MAS' travel arm, MASholidays.

MAS currently operates five direct flights between Dubai and KL as well as
via Karachi (two times a week).

The national carrier offers three weekly flights between Dubai and Beirut,
four weekly flights between Jeddah and KL and two weekly flights between
Istanbul and KL via Dubai.

It also operates code-share flights from Abu Dhabi, Cairo, Bahrain, Doha and
Muscat to KL.

Merina said: "In line with our aim to be the world's five-star value
carrier, passengers can experience quality service onboard MH flights while
enjoying affordable fares."

Customers can enjoy further convenience by checking in via the Internet,
bypassing queues in the travel process.

They can buy the tickets via MAS website http://www.malaysiaairlines.com,
travel agents or MAS ticketing offices.
