COVID-19 Claims Life Of Another Tabligh Member

KUALA LUMPUR, March 26 (Bernama) -- The deadly COVID-19 has claimed the life of another tabligh member Thursday, bringing the death toll due to the disease in Malaysia so far to 21. Health director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said the patient from Case 1588 was a Malaysian national, aged 63, with a history of chronic illness. “The patient was one of the participants of the tabligh gathering at Sri Petaling Mosque,” he said in a posting on his official Facebook page Thursday. Dr Noor Hisham said the patient was tested positive and admitted to the Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital in Alor Setar in Kedah after on March 23. During treatment, the patient’s condition deteriorated and he was pronounced dead at 4 am Thursday, he said. “We extend our condolences to the patient’s family,” he added. -- BERNAMA
