Social media activists thanked for their patriotic role

Manama, Apr. 2 (BNA): Information Minister Ali bin Mohammed Al Romaihi conveyed a message of respect and appreciation to the social media activists. In a video circulated on the social media websites, he thanked them for their patriotic efforts to boost national unity and social awareness in these exceptional circumstances. He described them as the unidentified soldiers who are playing a key role in promoting awareness and fighting rumours and disinformation. The Information Minister underlined complementarity between the official media and the social media networks in light of the exceptional circumstance undergone by the world. He paid tribute to His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khaifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier, for betting on social awareness, describing the role of the social media activists as essential in fighting rumours and disclosing trusted and official information. He praised keenness on serving Bahrain and its people, stressing that self-denial is a characteristic feature of the Bahraini personality.
