TOUR ON TWO WHEELS VIA "ZOOM! MALAYSIA WITH RIDERS"
KUANTAN (Malaysia), April 18 (Bernama) -- The Tourism Ministry will
introduce "ZOOM! Malaysia With Riders," a programme where tourists will be taken
to destinations on motorcycles.
Minister Dr Ng Yen Yen said the ministry hopes that motorcyclist
associations would make proposals on how it could implemented, the activities
involved and the fees to be charged.
She was confident that the programme would prove to be an attractive tourism
product for tourists and the young generation.
"Safety and profit are important factors that must be given priority. We
want Malaysians to implement this programme," she said after launching Kuantan
Mountain Bike Enduro Downhill 2009 at Teluk Chempedak near this capital of east
coast state of Pahang Saturday.
Some 100 cyclists from Malaysia, Thailand, Australia and Singapore took part
in the competition.
Ng said the ministry has allocated RM150,000 to upgrade the cycling track
Teluk Chempedak. (US$1=RM3.61)
