Assistant Foreign Minister highlight Bahrain’s diplomatic achievements

Manama, Apr. 11(BNA): Bahrain’s foreign policy is longstanding and is based on the values of national identity and human culture as well as different civilizations and cultures, said Assistant Foreign Minister, Abdullah bin Faisal bin Jabr Al Dossari.
He paid tribute to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, who established the principles of Bahraini foreign policy and direct diplomacy to build firm political alliances and partnerships with various countries of the world, and contribute to promoting stability and world peace.
He also noted that the Kingdom's foreign policy is based on a balanced diplomatic approach and flexible policies in facing the most difficult challenges, and contributing to solving many regional and international crises, taking into account full commitment and firm respect for international laws, customs and conventions.
He outlined Bahrain’s foreign policy fundamentals during online lecture he delivered to Shura Council members, organised by the Bahrain Institute for Political Development (BIPD), within its “Political Awareness” programme, which was broadcas through (Zoom).
He reviewed the concept of foreign policy through the definitions of a number of scholars and researchers in the political affairs, that are considered the approach that the state adopts in its various relations with members of the international community.
He said that diplomacy is the art of relations and negotiations in achieving higher interests and implementing foreign policy and highlighted the extent to which foreign policy and diplomacy are interrelated with international relations.
He praised the the wise directives of His Majesty the King, which are reflected in the Government Action Plan, shaping the the foundation of Bahrain’s foreign policy, highlighting diplomatic achievements over the past decades at all regional and international levels. He highlighted the constitutional and legal framework of parliamentary diplomacy and their important role .
The lecture was within the BIPD “Political Awareness” programme which includes also training workshops in the political, legal and constitutional fields devoted to members of the Shura Council.
