Information Minister hails Bahraini media strides

Manama, Apr. 20(BNA): Information Affairs Minister Ali bin Mohammed Al-Romaihi hailed the media’s role in raising national issues, enhancing social awareness, highlighting achievements and defending the nation. He extended thanks to the media staff as Bahrain marks the Arab Media Day which falls on the 21st of April, endorsed by the Arab Information Ministers Council during their 46th session in 2015. He commended the strenuous efforts of the media staff in Bahrain, especially in light of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, to support those who stand on the frontline to combat the pandemic, in addition to their role in enhancing social awareness and promoting health culture. He paid tribute to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa, hailing the royal care for the press and media community and keenness on tackling all impediments so that they could assume their national duty. “The dedication of this fifth edition to the Arab news agencies recognizes their pivotal role in spreading accurate and objective information, raising awareness among Arab citizens and keeping abreast of Arab and international developments. The minister hailed the professional media standard attained in Bahrain, which contributed to promoting Bahrain’s standing in the Arab and international arenas, thanks to modern laws and legislations. He lauded HM the King’s leadership, paying tribute to His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier for their support.
